International hockey player Akmal Sikandar passes away from heart attack in Wazirabad
Renowned international hockey player Akmal Sikandar, who represented Pakistan’s national hockey team for several years, passed away Friday due to a sudden heart attack. His untimely death has sent a wave of shock and grief across the hockey community and his hometown.
The funeral prayers for the late sportsman were held at 4 PM in Gakhar Mandi, his native town, with a large number of residents, fellow athletes, and officials in attendance. In a solemn tribute, his body was draped and honored by fellow hockey players before the funeral—a final gesture to a man who dedicated his life to the sport.
Akmal Sikandar was known for his skill, sportsmanship, and deep passion for hockey. Having worn the national colors with pride for many years, he was widely respected both on and off the field.
