Three accused shot dead in two police encounters in Lahore

As many as three accused lost their lives by the firing of their colleagues in two police encounters in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV on Friday.

The first police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Shafiqabad Police Station.

Police Inspector Ghulam Bari said that a team of Crime Control Department (CCD) was taking two arrested accused Nauraiz Butt alias Noori and Mohsin alias Danish for recovery and to apprehend their colleagues in Shafiqabad.

He said that three accused who were riding a motorcycle suddenly started firing at the police party.

Inspector Ghualm Bari said that a vehicle of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Asif Ranjha also came under severe firing.

DSP Danish Asif Raja remained unhurt as he was wearing a bullet-proof jacket, but his vehicle was severely damaged.

The police inspector said that both the dacoits received serious bullet wounds during the firing of their colleagues and died while being shifted to the hospital.

DSP Raja Ranjha said that the accused snatched Rs1 million from a shopkeeper near the Data Darbar area of Lahore.

The DSP further revealed that both dacoits committed robbery in more than 12 stores and pharmacies.

He said that one accused used to wear a veil while travelling just to dodge the police.

DSP Danish Asif Ranjha said that the accused committed crimes in a veil to escape police checking. The accused was wanted by the Punjab police in various criminal cases.

He said that all the colleagues of the accused escaped from the scene amid aerial firing.

The second police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Kahna Police Station, where a police party was taking the arrested accused Shabbir for recovery.

Crime Control Department sources said that some colleagues of the accused started firing at the police.

In a heavy exchange of firing, the accused Shabbir was killed by the firing of his colleagues.

The colleagues of the accused fled away from the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.

The accused was involved in serious criminal cases, including dacoity and a police encounter.
