GB supreme appellate court orders re-polling at Diamer
Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan has ordered re-polling at a polling station in the GBA-15 Diamer I constituency.
In its ruling, the court directed the ECP to conduct fresh polling at Loshi Thak polling station after accepting the appeal filed by a candidate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl.
The latest order comes a day after the Supreme Appellate Court directed re-polling at eight polling stations in the GBA-17 Darel constituency in response to another petition filed by the same party's candidate.
The dispute arose after the ECP ordered the issuance of Form-49 in GBA-17 based on the available election results. Challenging that decision, the candidate approached the Supreme Appellate Court for re-polling at 11 polling stations. The Election Commission is expected to implement the court's directives and announce the schedule for the fresh polling.
