Lahore police foil attempt to bury newborn, arrest three

Lahore police Saturday claimed to have foiled an attempt to bury a newborn infant and arrested three suspects during a timely operation in the city's Nawab Town area, 24NewsHD TV reported.

A spokesperson for the DIG Operations said the suspects were digging a pit and attempting to bury the infant when police arrived at the scene.

Those arrested include one man and two women.

During the initial investigation, the suspects reportedly made disclosures related to an alleged illegal abortion, the spokesperson said, adding that a transparent investigation is underway to determine all aspects of the incident.
