Survivor's account raises fresh questions as Balochistan orders probe into deadly Sherani Bus crash

New details have emerged from survivors of the deadly Dana Sar bus crash in Balochistan, as the provincial government ordered a formal investigation into the incident that claimed 40 lives and left several others injured in Sherani District, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to an injured passenger, the bus was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar when the driver allegedly loaded diesel onto the vehicle without informing passengers.

The survivor claimed that the fuel was later unloaded at the last Frontier Corps (FC) checkpoint in Balochistan, after which an argument broke out between passengers and the driver over the issue.

The passenger said the bus met with an accident shortly afterwards.

He added that women and children were also on board, and when he regained consciousness after the crash, he found bodies and injured passengers scattered around the scene.

The survivor's account has raised fresh questions about the circumstances leading to the tragedy.

However, these claims have not been independently verified by authorities.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the accident.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Shahid Rind said that, on the instructions of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the inquiry has been entrusted to the provincial Transport Secretary.

The chief minister has sought a detailed report on the causes of the accident and directed that every aspect of the incident be examined through a transparent and impartial investigation. 

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the Sherani bus tragedy.

He prayed for the departed souls, extended condolences to the bereaved families, and directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for those injured in the accident.
