Two sanitary workers die after inhaling toxic gas in Chishtian

Two sanitary workers breathed their last after inhaling toxic gas while working in a manhole in Chishtian, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The incident took place at Malik Chowk in Mehboob Colony where the sanitary workers were working to resume the sewerage system without adopting life-saving measures.

The condition of the third sanitary worker is critical. Soon after receiving the report, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.

The operation was conducted for two hours due to poisonous gas and difficulties in the thoroughfare.

Later, the rescue workers retrieved the dead bodies from the sewerage system and shifted them to the local hospital for autopsy.

The third sanitary worker is being treated at the local hospital, where his condition is critical.
