Senator Shahzad Waseem named new Leader of the House

Prime Minister Imran Khan has written a letter to Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to appointment Senator Shahzad Waseem the new Leader of the House in the upper house of the parliament.
The move comes after appointment of former Leader of the House, Senator Shibli Faraz, as federal minister for information and broadcasting. The appointment of Senator Shahzad as Leader of the House will be notified soon. He belongs to Gujar Khan and lives in Islamabad. He is a senior member of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and he was elected to Senate in place of Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar. Sarwar had to resign as senator when his party decided to appointment the governor of Punjab.
Senator Shahzad, who holds a degree in medicine, will complete his six-year tenure as member of the Senate in 2024.
