Haseeb Hyat Haraj becomes first Pakistani to win Oxford Law award

In a moment of immense pride for Pakistan and particularly the city of Kabirwala, Meher Haseeb Hyat Haraj has made history by becoming the first Pakistani to win the prestigious Oxford University Law Award at the university’s Law Competition 2025 held in London.

Meher Haseeb is the son of Punjab Assembly Member Meher Akbar Hayat Haraj and the nephew of Federal Minister for Defence Production Barrister Raza Hayat Haraj.

His remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone not just for his family but for the country at large, as he joins a distinguished circle of globally recognized legal scholars and aspiring jurists.

Previously, one of his cousins was elected as the President of the Oxford Union, one of the world’s most prominent student debating societies.
