India’s regional superiority myth shattered, says Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar asserted on Wednesday that India's claims of regional dominance have come to an end, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Wednesday. 

Addressing the weekly media briefing in Islamabad, Dar remarked that possessing advanced war technology alone does not determine success in conflict. 

“Regional hegemony is no longer India's reality,” he stated, in a clear message regarding the shifting balance of power in South Asia.

Highlighting recent diplomatic developments, Dar revealed that Azerbaijan has hinted at a potential $2 billion investment in Pakistan. 

The foreign minister described this as a promising signal of growing economic collaboration between the two countries.

Dar also shed light on the outcomes of his recent visit to China. He said that on May 19, during a bilateral tour, Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan held an informal trilateral meeting in Beijing. 

Following Pakistan’s request, China has agreed to extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into Afghanistan—a decision with profound geopolitical and economic implications for the region.

“These meetings, although informal, were highly constructive and reflect the deepening trust and regional vision among all three nations,” Dar noted. 

He emphasised that his trip to China facilitated both bilateral and trilateral engagements aimed at advancing mutual connectivity and economic growth among Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan.

It is also noteworthy that on May 31, Dar held a telephonic conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov. 

Both leaders discussed the upcoming Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Summit scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan this July. 

They reviewed detailed preparations and cooperation mechanisms ahead of the event, which is expected to further cement regional economic ties.
