Naqvi, Iranian counterpart discuss regional peace efforts amid diplomatic push
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni on Thursday and discussed efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, according to a statement from Pakistan's Interior Ministry.
The two ministers exchanged views on the regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and promote dialogue.

The meeting comes as Pakistan continues its diplomatic engagement with regional stakeholders amid efforts to facilitate understanding between Iran and the United States, where negotiations have recently faced renewed challenges after showing signs of progress.
According to official sources, Naqvi has remained actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to support peace initiatives and reduce regional tensions.
Last month, during a visit to Tehran, the interior minister intensified consultations on a potential long-term ceasefire arrangement and broader regional stability ahead of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s visit to Iran.
During that visit, Naqvi also held a telephone conversation with Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud, during which the two leaders discussed the regional security situation and developments related to Iran-US talks.
Both sides agreed to further enhance security cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral security ties.
While in Tehran, Naqvi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni as part of a series of high-level consultations.
The Pakistani interior minister also held talks with senior Iranian security officials, including the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, focusing on regional peace, security cooperation and efforts to promote stability in the region.
