PEIRA allows summer camps in private schools across Islamabad

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has allowed private educational institutions in Islamabad to conduct summer camps during the upcoming summer vacation, according to an official notification.

Under the decision, summer camps will be held from June 8 to July 8, 2026, in private schools across the federal capital.

The notification states that no additional fee will be charged from students participating in the summer camps.

According to the schedule issued by PEIRA, summer camp activities will be held Monday to Thursday between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, with Friday remaining a holiday.

The authority has made it clear that participation in the summer camps will be voluntary, and that schools must obtain prior parental consent before enrolling students in any activity.

PEIRA has also directed schools to ensure the availability of alternative electricity arrangements, clean drinking water and first-aid facilities during the camps. Students have also been exempted from wearing uniforms while attending the summer sessions.

Meanwhile, the All Pakistan Private Schools Association welcomed the decision and thanked the PEIRA Chairman for allowing the summer camps in a timely manner.

The association said the camps would provide students with an opportunity to engage in educational and co-curricular activities during the summer break while ensuring their comfort and safety.
