PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has filed a petition in the accountability court for his acquittal in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case pleading that he took measures that saved billions of public money which even affected adversely to the interests of his family, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Shehbaz’s lawyers submitted the petition on his behalf to the accountability court on Friday. The petition states that during his tenure as Punjab chief minister he took such measures which resulted in saving billions of public money, even these measures hurt his family’s concern.

The petitioner stated that he was neither the shareholder of Ramzan Sugar Mills nor its director. He said he distributed his property among his offspring.

He further said that the NAB had not proved any allegation against him so far praying to the court to exonerate him in the case.
