Meeting approves Wheat Procurement Policy for 2023
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Saturday chaired the 8th meeting of the provincial cabinet that decided to promote merit and uproot the culture of favouritism.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the cabinet declared the decision of recruitment through the departmental committees null and void.
It approved the Wheat Procurement Policy for 2023-24 and the campaign will be started on March 10.
The Punjab government will buy 35 lakh metric tonnes of wheat while 395 centres will be established for wheat procurement across the province
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed the Cabinet Standing Committee on Wheat to review the wheat procurement campaign on a daily basis.

He asked the transport department to send a summary soon to provide a free travel facility for students.
The cabinet asked for a plan to start the metro bus service at 6 am instead of 6:30 am as thousands of labourers use the facility to reach their work at 7 o'clock
The meeting approved the establishment of the Joint Coordination Committee for Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Murree and the Auditor General of Pakistan's 3-year audit reports of the Punjab Government's accounts.
It okayed the appointment to the post of Vice Chancellor of Lahore Garrison University.
