NA 213 Umerkot by elections will be held on April 17: ECP

By elections in NA 213 Umerkot will be held on April 17 as Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued its schedule, the constituency fell vacant following the demise of PPP MNA Nawab Yousuf Talpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to ECP, the nomination papers will be received from March 4 to March 6. The scrutiny of the papers is scheduled for March 7, while appeals can be filed by March 17. 

Candidates can withdraw their nominations by March 26 and election symbols will be allotted on March 27. The polling for the by-election is set to take place on April 17. 

Among those who have received nomination forms are Nawab Yousuf Talpur’s wife Saba Talpur, his son and Sindh ruling party MPA Taimoor Talpur. 

PTI candidate Laal Malhi and PML-N’s Mir Amanullah have also obtained the nomination forms. Pir Umar Jan Sarhandi, who is a nominated in the murder case of Dr. Shahnawaz Kumhar, has also obtained the papers.
