Punjab government has approved the construction, repair and restoration of 170 tourist places and trails in province for promoting tourism, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting held in connection with promotion of tourism.

The meeting was told that Punjab's first complete tourism Magnificent App is ready and it will be launched soon and virtual tours of 170 tourist places will be possible through the Magnificent App.

The first tourism app Magnificent Punjab includes all the features related to tourism.

Travel visits and hotel bookings will also be possible through the Magnificent App.

Food Panda and other services will also be available through the Magnificent App.

Useful information will also be available from the chat bot on the Magnificent App.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given in-principle approval to the largest and most comprehensive tourism plan of Punjab.

Religious, historical, ancient heritage, antiquities and ecotourism will be promoted across Punjab.

Tourist villages will also be built for tourists to give a sense of proximity to ancient civilization.

For the first time, tourism trails will also be developed in Punjab.

Mall Road, Walled City of Lahore, Sikh Site and Mughal monuments on GT Road will also be included in the tourist trail.

Salt Range, Gujranwala, Aimanabad, Bhati Gateand Taxali Gate Sikh tourism trail will also be established.

Tourist places of different cities will be developed as tourism clusters.

Gandhara trail related to Gandhar civilization includes Taxila Museum, Dharma Rachika, Jolian, Sirkep and Giri Fort are included.

Proposal to restore ancient buildings of Gurdwaras and churches in Punjab were also reviewed.

Multan's living heritage site Qila Kahna Qasim Bagh will be restored as a symbol of Indus Valley civilization.

Special trail will be developed for the convenience of pilgrims in Uch Sharif.

It was agreed to develop Changa Manga Forest Park and Lal Suhanra National Park for the promotion of eco-tourism.

For the promotion of tourism, for the improvement of governance Punjab Tourism and Heritage Authority Act 2025 will be presented.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also gave in-principle approval to Punjab's first Tourism and Heritage Authority.

Tourism sites will be developed in various cities including Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Chakwal and Jhelum.

Maryam Nawaz said Punjab is laying the foundation for the promotion of global tourism. 

She said we want to make all tourist sites as per world standards. 

Taxila will be made a complete tourist site and there a five-star hotel will also be built, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said.

She said full focus is on the promotion of tourism in Punjab and tourism hubs will be created.
