Bangladesh varsity Assistant Prof murdered over transfer, salary dispute

Assistant Professor Asma Sadia Runa of the Social Welfare Department of Bangladesh Islamic University was murdered by a university employee named Fazlur Rahman over transfer and salary dispute on Wednesday. 

The brutal incident took place on Wednesday evening in the Social Sciences Faculty building. After killing the teacher, the accused employee himself attempted suicide. 

It is learnt that Fazlur Rahman stabbed Asma Sadia, the chairman of the Social Welfare Department in her office due to a salary dispute and anger over his transfer. 

Later, the attacker tried to commit suicide as well. 

Both were taken to Kushtia General Hospital in Bangladesh where doctors declared Asma Sadia dead. The doctor confirmed that teacher died due to excessive bleeding. The attacker is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.
