Chaos erupts at Karan Aujla’s Mumbai concert after Delhi clash

What was meant to be a high energy celebration of music quickly spiraled into controversy, as back to back concerts by Punjabi hitmaker Karan Aujla in Delhi and Mumbai were marred by reports of violence, overcrowding and lack of basic facilities.

According to circulating videos and eyewitness accounts, Aujla’s February 28 performance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium descended into chaos after a violent altercation broke out within the massive crowd.

The concert reportedly drew nearly 75,000 attendees making it one of the largest single day turnouts for a Punjabi artist in India.

Clips of the scuffle spread rapidly across social media, prompting widespread debate about event management and crowd control at large scale music gatherings.

The turbulence did not end there. At his subsequent Mumbai show held at the MMRDA Grounds, fans described scenes of complete disorder, with several attendees complaining about the absence of essential amenities, including access to drinking water.

Social media posts from concertgoers painted a picture of frustration, long queues and inadequate arrangements despite the scale and ticket demand of the event.

This is not the first time Aujla’s concerts have faced disruption. In November 2025, his performance at Loud Park in Kharghar during the rolling loud India festival was also interrupted following a physical altercation in the audience, further fueling concerns about security preparedness at high profile shows.

Despite the controversies, Aujla’s P-POP Culture India Tour is scheduled to continue across ten major cities, including Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow and Ludhiana.

However, the incidents in Delhi and Mumbai have intensified calls from fans and observers for tighter safety protocols, better crowd management strategies and improved on-ground facilities.
