Dar discusses deteriorating Middle East situation with Egyptian, Turkish counterparts

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday held separate telephonic conversations with his Egyptian and Turkish counterparts to discuss the rapidly deteriorating regional situation, the Foreign Office said.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi, Dar spoke to Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty, during which both leaders expressed deep concern over the evolving crisis in the region.

The two sides stressed the importance of de-escalation, restraint and adherence to international law to maintain peace and stability. They reiterated the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and Egypt and agreed to remain in close contact to promote constructive diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring regional peace and security.

In a separate call, Dar contacted Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the worsening situation.

During the conversation, both leaders reviewed ongoing developments, with Turkey expressing grave concern over continuing operations, including a recent attempted attack. The deputy prime minister underscored the urgent need for immediate de-escalation of tensions and the exercise of restraint by all sides.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan reaffirmed its full solidarity with Turkey and emphasized continued close cooperation to safeguard regional peace and stability.

The high-level diplomatic engagements reflect Islamabad’s active outreach to key regional partners amid growing uncertainty and security challenges.
