Massive hail damages crops, cars, solar panels in Punjab, Loralai, Haripur 

Met office predicts more rains, hailstorms across the country on Friday

Different regions of the country including Punjab cities witnessed large and heavy hails of more than 125 grams weight that caused damaging the standing crops of wheat, screens of cars, solar panels and injured animals.  

According to the 24News HD TV channel, heavy rain and hailstorm on the Talagang-Klarkahar road covered the area with a white sheet and destroyed the standing crop of wheat.

In Haripur and surrounding areas, torrential rains with thunder and lightning since morning destroyed the ready-to-harvest crop of wheat while the rainwater channels created a flood situation in the area.

In Lorelai City and other areas, crops were badly damaged and fruits fell to the ground before ripening due to large and heavy hails.

The extraordinarily heavy hails also damaged the solar panels on the roofs and injured animals standing in the fields.

Sargodha city and surrounding areas also received heavy hails which were collected by children in the pots for their fun.

In the Lahore city and surrounding areas, 160 electricity feeders of LESCO were dripped due to heavy rain and lightning. 

The LESCO management appealed to the people to stay away from electrical installations during rain.

Consumers are requested to avoid high voltage wires and to stay away children from electrical installations while playing in the streets.

LESCO Chief Engineer Shahid Haider asked that field employees working on the line during rains should strictly follow all safety-related SOPs and should never work without protective equipment.

Met Office prediction for Friday wheather

According to the Meteorological Department, more stormy rains are expected for the next two days.

The met office predicted that on Friday, there is a possibility of rain with windstorms and thunder in Islamabad.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the areas of Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Saidu Sharif, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Kohistan will receive heavy rain with strong winds and thunder.

Karam, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, DI Khan, Kohat and Bannu are likely to experience light and heavy rains with winds and thunderstorms. There is a possibility of hailstorms in some places.

Punjab

In Punjab, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder and hail at some places in the regions of Pothohar, Mianwali, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sialkot including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Murree, Galyat.

There is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder and hail in Lahore, Jhang, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Okara.

While light rain with thunderstorms is expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Multan and DG Khan.

Balochistan

Most districts of Balochistan will remain partly cloudy and there is a chance of rain with strong winds and thunder in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Kalat, Khuzdar, Zhob and Barkhan.

Sindh

Sindh may experience light rain with strong winds and thunder on Friday.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thundershowers in some places.
