Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered immediate repair of all dysfunctional water filtration plants in all districts of Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Chief Minister also directed all Deputy Commissioners of Punjab to make arrangements for the maintenance of filtration plants at local level.

According to the spokesman of the Punjab government, the main objective is to provide clean drinking water to the common people.

475 non-functional water filtration plants owned by government and private sectors will be repaired within fifteen days.

The rehabilitation of water filtration plants will not cost a single penny from the government exchequer; instead, the work will be done with the help of philanthropists.

Additionally, CM Naqvi instructed the relevant authorities to maintain the filtration plants from May 5 to May 20.

“About 4 million people will benefit from clean drinking water by rehabilitating the plants,” said Punjab government spokesman.
