IG Punjab distributes 20 apartments among martyrs' families in Lahore

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar distributed 20 apartments to families of martyred policemen in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
A spokesman for Punjab police said that measures were being taken to provide houses to families of those policemen who embraced martyrdom before 2017. 
He said that more apartments will be given to families of martyred policemen in Lahore and Islamabad.
He said that construction work on these apartments has already started, and after completion, these apartments will be handed over to families of martyred policemen.
He went on to say that checks worth Rs4,500,000 were also distributed among families of nine policemen who embraced martyrdom prior to 2017.
He said that Rs 500,000 were provided to the family of each martyred policeman in the shape of cheque.
Speaking on the occasion, Inspector-General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that plots were provided to families of 701 policemen who were martyred before 2017.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab police also provided Rs61 million for the construction of homes on plots.
Inspector General of Police Punjab paid glowing tributes to the martyred policemen who sacrificed their lives while performing their professional duties.
He said that martyred policemen are real assets of the police department, and we are proud of their sacrifices.
Dr. Usman Awnwar said that Punjab Police signed accords for the provision of foreign scholarships to children of martyred policemen.
Additional Inspector-General Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhary, Additional Inspector General Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, DIG Welfare and Finance Ghazi Mohammad Salahuddin, AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Shirazi, and other senior officials attended the ceremony.
