Indian cop loses job for marrying Pakistani woman
As tensions between India and Pakistan simmer following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has announced some draconian measures such as the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, banning the entry of Pakistani airlines’ planes in its airspace and severing trade and cultural links with Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
In one such instance, marrying a Pakistani woman proved costly for an Indian policeman as he was fired from service.
Muneer, who was employed at the Special Police Force, had been transferred from the state of Jammu and Kashmir to Bhopal just a day before he was terminated from service.
Muneer’s wife Meenal Khan was also asked to leave India.
However, later, a court allowed both husband and wife to stay in India for 10 days.
