Measles outbreak claims two young lives in Jacobabad
Two children lost their lives to measles in Goth Rahim Bakhsh Jaffari, a village located in the Thul area of Jacobabad district, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday.
According to local sources, the deceased children have been identified as five-year-old Asma and four-year-old Muzammil, both of whom succumbed to the highly contagious viral infection.
The spread of measles in the area has sparked serious concern, as more children are feared to be at risk amid the growing outbreak.
Despite the rising number of cases, the Sindh Health Department has reportedly failed to take adequate preventive measures, leaving residents anxious and vulnerable.
The situation in Jacobabad highlights a critical gap in the province's response to infectious disease control, particularly in remote and under-resourced areas like Thul.
