Nine-year-old girl raped in Taunsa, accused shopkeeper flees

A horrifying incident unfolded in the Sasti Basti area of Taunsa Sharif, where a nine-year-old girl was reportedly sexually assaulted inside a local shop. 

The 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday that Taunsa Sharif police have registered a case and launched raids to arrest the fleeing suspect. 

According to the FIR lodged by the girl's uncle, Abdul Hafeez, the child had gone to a nearby shop to buy household items but did not return for an unusually long time. Concerned, he began searching for her. 

He told the police that cries coming from a nearby shop led him to the location, where he found his niece bleeding. The accused, identified as shopkeeper Tahir Khantak, fled the scene upon being discovered.

The police spokesperson told the media that the accused is also wanted by the police in many other criminal cases; the accused will be arrested soon.
