Notorious dacoit Adeel killed in police encounter in Lahore

A notorious dacoit, namely Mohammad Adeel, was gunned down during a police encounter in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
A spokesman of the Crime Control Department (CCD) said that the dead dacoit was wanted by the police in dacoity and police encounter cases.
The spokesman said that a CCD team raided the spot after receiving secret information about his presence in the jurisdiction of Kahna Police Station.
But soon after taking notice of the police party, accused Mohammad Adeel and his colleagues opened fire on the police.
During a heavy exchange of firing, dacoit Mohammad Adeel became seriously injured and was being shifted to the hospital but breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
The CCD spokesman further said that prior to this encounter, the accused successfully fled away during a police encounter that took place on Satiyana Road, Faisalabad.
The accused were involved in entering the homes of citizens forcefully and taking innocent children and women hostage to commit the crimes.
The CCD spokesman said that the dead dacoit Mohammad Adeel was a police record holder, as different criminal cases were registered against him in Lahore and other cities of Punjab.
Other colleagues of the dacoit escaped from the scene during the firing.
The spokesman said that a search operation is already underway to arrest his other colleagues.
