One killed, three injured in Shahrag coal mine landslide in Harnai
A landslide in the Shahrag PMDC coal mines area of Harnai district claimed the life of one miner and left three others injured, the Levies Control Room confirmed Sunday.
The incident occurred while miners were working underground when a sudden collapse of earth trapped them inside. Nearby miners from adjacent sites rushed to the scene and managed to retrieve the deceased and injured colleagues without official rescue assistance.
The victims were shifted to the Rural Health Center in Shahrag for immediate medical attention. According to medical sources, two of the injured miners were later referred to Quetta due to the severity of their injuries, while one was discharged after receiving first aid for minor wounds.
The deceased miner has been identified as Saleem, son of Khan Gul, hailing from Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Following legal formalities, local authorities handed over his body to his family.
