Pakistan Navy assists Indian crew in Arabian Sea rescue operation

The Pakistan Navy is conducting a humanitarian rescue operation in the Arabian Sea, providing emergency assistance to crew members aboard a distressed Indian vessel, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

 According to security officials, Pak Naval personnel are providing support to seven crew members including six Indian nationals and one Indonesian, aboard the merchant vessel MV Gautam, which encountered a technical fault during its voyage from Oman to India.

The Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Mumbai contacted Pakistani authorities after the vessel reported a malfunction and required urgent assistance at sea.

Responding swiftly to the alert, the Pakistan Navy dispatched a ship from the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, identified as Kashmir, to carry out the rescue operation.

The stranded crew is being provided with food, medical care, and technical support as efforts continue to stabilise the vessel and ensure the safety of those on board.

Security sources said the Pakistan Navy remains committed to responding effectively to emergencies at sea and stands ready to assist on humanitarian grounds regardless of nationality.
