On the call of nationwide protest from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the attack on the party chairman Imran Khan, charged workers started violent demonstrations in different cities, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Friday.
PTI’s sit-in at Faizabad in Islamabad
A serious clash was observed between law enforcement agencies and the violent protesters at Faizabad in Islamabad. PTI's female workers also held a protest outside the National Press Club in Islamabad and chanted slogans against corrupt rulers.
The PTI workers started a sit-in at Faizabad and pelted stones at the police, resultantly, the police used tear gas to disperse the violent protesters.
During the protest, police also arrested two PTI workers on the charges of pelting stones at the security forces at the spot.
Due to the shelling of tear gas, the police succeeded to disperse the protesters and restored Murree Road for traffic.
But after some time, the PTI workers gathered again at Faizabad point and burnt some trees and plants.
PTI workers attack Governor’s House in Lahore
The PTI workers in good numbers also gathered at Mall Road in front of the main gate of the Punjab Governor’s House and chanted anti-government and anti-rulers slogans.
The workers also tried to enter the Governor’s House and attacked it by climbing on the gates and damaging the reception cabin and security cameras in the presence of the police.
PTI protesters burnt tyres outside the Governor’s House and halted traffic at Mall Road. Reportedly, some ambulances also got stuck in the traffic.
The PTI workers also installed some ‘constitutional banners’ outside the Governor’s House main gate to record their protest against the rulers and their wrongdoings.
Later, the protesters ended their sit-in and protest outside the Governor's House.
Metro Bus Service suspended
PTI workers also blocked Ring Road at Harbanspura by burning tyres. They also blocked traffic at Babu Sabu Chowk at Band Road by placing containers at the square while the Lahore administration suspended Metro Bus Service to avoid any unpleasant incident.
Demonstrators blocks GT Road at Gujrat
Against the firing of Imran Khan at the Long March container, PTI workers held a protest in Gujrat, Lala Musa, Kharian, and Sarai Alamgir and blocked the GT Road for traffic. They also blocked the Shaheen Chowk Bypass for traffic.
Protest in Karachi
PTI workers gathered at the Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi and held a big demonstration against the attack on Imran Khan during his long march at the GT Road yesterday.
The protesters tried to enter the Red Zone in Karachi and a clash was observed between the angry mob and the police.
Karachi police also used tear gas to disperse the violent workers of the PTI. At Regent Palaza, police beat charge the protesters who later, dispersed.
PTI Peshawar blocks Motorway
The PTI workers holding a big protest in Peshawar blocked Motorway at the Toll Plaza and chanted slogans of “Imported Government—Unaccepted”.
PTI Peshawar leaders and workers demanded the authorities they should expose the characters behind the conspiracy of attack on Imran Khan.
Protesters hit Sialkot Roads
In Sialkot, PTI workers blocked major chowk including Alam Chowk, Allama Iqbal Chowk, Rangpura Chowk, Doburji Chowk, and Nikkapur Chowk for any traffic.
They also halted the movement of any vehicles at the Wazirabad Daska Road and staged a strong protest against the firing incident in the long march.
Protests erupt in AJK
PTI Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) workers organized protests against the attack on Imran Khan during the long march.
Several protests were demonstrated in Rawalakot and its suburban areas. They blocked the traffic at Maqbool Butt Chowk in Rawalakot.
