Mike Hesson welcomes return of international cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years
Pakistan’s white-ball head coach Mike Hesson has expressed his delight over the return of international cricket to Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, after a 17-year hiatus, 24NewsHD TV reported.
The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa is set to begin tomorrow, marking a historic moment for the city as it prepares to host its first international fixture since 2008, when Pakistan last played against Bangladesh at the same venue.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, Hesson wrote, “Personally, this is my first time in Faisalabad, as well as the first international match to be played in the city for 17 years.”
He added, “The Faisalabad locals have been incredibly friendly and welcoming. We are all very much looking forward to the start of the ODI series, hoping and preparing to put on a show for the people of Pakistan.”
