3 looters of life-saving drugs shot dead in Khanpur police encounter

Three dacoits were shot dead and their other accomplices escaped during a police encounter in Khanpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Zahir Pir Police Station in Khanpur.

A spokesman of the police said that a few days ago these dacoits went into hiding after looting a truck loaded with life-saving drugs worth millions of rupees.

After receiving the report, the police cordoned off the entire area.  Last night, these dacoits were transporting these medicines to Link Road via National Highway, but the police intercepted the truck.

During heavy exchange of fire between the police and dacoits, three unknown dacoits died after being severely bullets.

The spokesman of the police further said that the police impounded the looted truck and a car being used by the dacoits.

Later, police shifted the dead bodies of dacoits and started a search operation to apprehend the accomplices of the accused.

District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Soomro lauded the police team for showing outstanding performance. 

He further directed to use all available resources to apprehend the accomplices of the dacoits.
