Nine die in their sleep as speedy truck rams into Shikarpur houses

Nine people, including women and children, lost their lives, and seven others seriously injured when a speedy truck rammed into their houses in Shikarpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The incident took place at Kundan Chowrangi, located in the jurisdiction of New Faujdari Police Station in Shikarpur.

Rescue sources said that the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle due to overspeeding and rammed into the mud houses of the Bhel tribe, killing nine people in their sleep .

The deceased included a woman and four children. Rescue sources said during the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the incident occurred as the driver lost control of the truck due to failure of its brakes which then stormed into the houses destroying many of them. Later the vehicle overturned after an electric pole fell on it.

Soon after receiving the report, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies and injured persons to the hospital.

Groom’s brother dies in Khairpur accident

A man who was the brother of the groom died on the spot, and three others, including two women, injured when a speeding truck crushed a motorcycle in Khairpur.

The incident occurred in Kot Digi on Mehran Highway in Islamabad.

Police said that the motorcycle was running beside the truck carrying the wedding party.

Soon after the incident, police and rescue team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured to the Civil Hospital. The deceased was later identified as Habdar Kanasoro.

The condition of critically injured persons is serious. Police said that the accident occurred due to speeding.

One dead in Jaranwala accident

One person died and two others became seriously injured when driver of the truck fell into deep sleep and lost control of the vehicle.

The truck was going to Lahore from Multan. The dead person was identified as Naveed, son of Tahir Ali 37, resident of Chak No. 79, Arifwala.

The injured persons include Mohammad Asif, son of Umer Hayat 23, resident of Toba Tek Sindh and Ghulam Abbas son of Salamat Ali, 23, resident of Nankana Sahib.

Soon after the incident, the rescue team reached the spot and shifted the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Jaranwala.

Two die in Chakwal

Two people died and two others received serious wounds when a truck collided with a Mazda at Bhatti Gujjar located on Motorway M-2.

The dead persons were identified as Akbarzada and Mahabat Khan, residents of Swat.

The rescue team shifted the dead and injured persons to the District Headquarters Hospital in Chakwal.
