Court rejects police request for exhumation of Dr Maha’s grave

A local court in Karachi on Friday rejected an application forwarded by the police seeking permission for the exhumation of Dr Maha Ali’s grave in order to help solve her mysterious suicide, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court in South Karachi ruled that Dr Maha Ali has been buried in a graveyard in Mirpurkhas where is out of its jurisdiction. The court directed the police to contact local judicial authorities in this regard.

Following the court direction, the Defence police have sent a letter to the session judge in Mirpurkhas for grave exhumation and further investigation.

If allowed, Dr Maha Ali’s grave will be exhumed under the supervision of a magistrate and then another post-mortem will be carried out.

The police in its letter detailed every piece of investigation they have conducted so far.
