The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has decided to target the online business as the revenue collection authority is working on an emergency basis to bring the people doing online business into the tax net, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources divulged to 24News TV channel on Thursday that the FBR has decided to put tax on the people doing online business. The FBR is working on this project on fast-track as it is contemplating levying this tax in September.

The sources informed that the government would slap 2% tax on online business. The people who are doing Internet-based business have to pay 2% tax on the purchase of articles, they added.

However, the tax filers are exempted from this tax. Only the non-filers who are doing online business will be brought into the tax net, the sources concluded.
