August 5, 2022 03:15 PM

Senate has been told that the volume of Chinese investment in Pakistan has started decreasing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Federal Minister Ch Salik Hussain in a written reply submitted to the upper house on Friday revealed that the Chinese investment in Pakistan had decreased by 29.27% during last three years.

The minister attributed the low investment by the Chinese businessmen to the coronavirus epidemic which slowed down the trading activity all across the world. The CPEC project was also affected by the Covid-related restrictions, he added.

Earlier, the Senate offered Fateha for the martyrs in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Deputy Chairman Senate asked Senator Mushtaq Ahmed to lead the Fateha.

Senator Mian Raza Rabbani said that today the whole nation and Kashmiri across the world were observing Youm-e-Istehsal against the illegal revoking of IIOJK special status. He called for accelerating efforts by Pakistan to break the world silence on Kashmir.

He deplored that institutions were trying to infringe upon the jurisdiction of each other. He regretted that courts were issuing notices to the standing committees. He said that he had written a letter to the National Assembly speaker and Senate chairman in this regard.
