On the eve of ‘Yaume Istehsal Kashmir’ (August 5, 2022), Senate on Friday unanimously passed a resolution expressing solidarity with the people of the held valley, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi presided over the session. 

Leader of the House, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar tabled a motion before presenting the resolution in which it was said that three years ago, on August 5, 2019, India, by bypassing the UN resolutions, revoked the special status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir which it itself had granted to it under its constitution.  

It further said that Pakistan raised its voice over the issue at all world forums, and that the country would not relent until and unless the Kashmiris were granted independence.
