Two die after roof of building collapses in Karachi

Two people were killed while five were injured after the roof of a building collapsed near Chakewara police station in the Old Layyari area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The rescue operation was underway till last reports came in.  

Rescue 1122 Sindh spokesman said that as soon as the call was received at the Central Command and Control Rescue 1122, a team of the Urban Search and Rescue reached the site along with a Disaster Response Vehicle.  

The spokesman said there were reports that several persons were buried underneath the rubble and that efforts were being made to pull them out.  

Meanwhile, in another roof collapse incident in Lyari a man died while several others were injured, who were shifted to Civil Hospital.

A child breathed his last while another was injured when roof of their house was collapsed amid rain in Muhammad Hayat Khosa village in Kashmore on Monday morning.

The family informed that 10-year-old Shazeb died on the spot while four-year-old Junaid was injured.
