Bilal declares Pakistan's position as a global crypto regulation trailblazer

Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), Bilal bin Saqib, declared that for emerging economies such as Pakistan, regulating virtual assets is the key to economic growth, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

Speaking at the high-profile “Binance Blockchain Week” in Dubai, he addressed an audience that included global crypto luminaries such as CZ, Michael Saylor, and the UAE’s Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Omar Sultan Al Olama, along with other experts in digital assets and emerging technologies.

During his key address in the high-profile event, Bilal bin Saqib argued that Pakistan has the potential to serve as an effective global model for crypto regulation.

Bilal bin Saqib said the country’s stablecoin and data-point case studies could become globally instructive blueprints.

He further asserted that Pakistan’s representation on international forums in Dubai and Abu Dhabi marks a significant milestone, underscoring that active participation could pave the way for increased international collaboration in the virtual assets arena.

According to sources, Bilal bin Saqib is scheduled to participate in another important global event in Abu Dhabi on December 9, signalling Pakistan’s continued engagement with international stakeholders in the crypto sector.

Looking back to August 24, 2025, he recalled unveiling Pakistan’s “revolutionary crypto roadmap”. He noted that his 2018 predictions about the crypto market had since proved accurate.

The PVARA chairman pointed out that by establishing a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve, Pakistan has formally aligned itself with global crypto strategy, a move he described as a major milestone for the nation.

The formation of PVARA itself, he said, represents a critical step toward strengthening Pakistan’s virtual-asset infrastructure.

Bilateral crypto diplomacy, according to him, has been reimagined, opening the door to broader economic growth and international recognition.

Calling Pakistan a “hidden treasure”, Bilal bin Saqib said that the nation’s true economic strength would become more visible in the years ahead.

The crypto reserve initiative, he added, is a revolutionary project that boosts Pakistan’s standing and credibility within global financial and technological circles.
