Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider has warned PTI-led Government of Pakistan against accepting American offer of mediation to resolve Kashmir, arguing that such a step would only benefit India.
Welcoming Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday, Raja Farooq Haider said “Kashmiris will stand in the way if anyone wishes to hurt Pakistan.”
Raja Farooq said that after August 5, 2019, today was the first time that Pakistan had expressed solidarity with Azad Jammu and Kashmir and its people. He added that before partition Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah had warned that the Indian Congress will deceive the Muslims.
The AJK premier said that his government was cognizant of the challenges being faced by Pakistan and was thankful that, despite the difficulties, Islamabad continued to stand by the Kashmiris.
Earlier, AJK President Sardar Masood Khan, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Speaker Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir and other high-ranking officials accorded a warm welcome to Imran Khan.
Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan was given a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of AJK Police at AJK Legislative Assembly. National anthem of Pakistan was also played on the occasion.
