Lahore receives light rain fall

Punjab capital Lahore and its surroundings have received light rain and drizzling late on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channels.

Rainfall has been reported in different areas of Lahore including Iqbal Town, Samanabad, Ferozepur road, Kot Lakhpat Road, Canal Road, Thokar Niaz Beg, Kareem Block, Liberty Chowk and Gulberg.

The temperature was recorded to be 17 degrees and the Meteorological department forecasted rain showers on Wednesday as well.

Met office Sunday forecast that cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain cold and partly cloudy in the upper and western regions of the country.  A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect western/upper parts of the country from tonight and may persist in upper parts till Monday.

Rain-thunderstorm/ snow is expected in upper Punjab, north Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.

Isolated light rain/light snowfall over the hills is expected in Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next 24 hours.  Fog is likely to occur in plain areas of Punjab during morning hours, Meteorological Department said. 

Islamabad, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas are likely to receive thundershowers and snowfall, Met office added.
