Pak becomes GHSA steering committee chairman

Pakistan has become the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) steering group chairman for 2023, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
The GHSA takes the step to increase the capacity of the treatment of various diseases.
The GHSA is an effort by nations, international organizations, and civil society to accelerate progress toward a world safe and secure from infectious disease threats.
GHSA was launched in February 2014 in response to the global threat of infectious diseases. The GSHA identifies various diseases around the world.
More than 100 countries are signatories to GHSA, and Pakistan has been a member since 2015.
In 2020, Pakistan was selected as a Steering Group member of GHSA. According to sources, Pakistan is committed to work accordance with the objectives of IHR and GHSA.
A certificate distribution ceremony will be held in Pakistan next week in which GHSA Steering Group member countries will participate in the event, they added.
