Courts to hear cases during Basant holidays

Cases will be heard as usual in the courts on the occasion of Basant tomorrow despite local holidays on February 6-7, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Cause list has been issued in the Lahore High Court for hearing cases on Friday, February 6.

About 22 judges including Chief Justice Lahore High Court Alia Neelam will hear the cases.

Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Masood Abid Naqvi, Justice Shahid Karim, Justice Sajid Mahmood Sethi, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, Justice Asim Hafeez, Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafique, Justice Muhammad Raza Qureshi, Justice Khalid Ishaq, Justice Malik Muhammad Owais Khalid and other judges will also hear cases.

On the other hand, lawyers and law officers are not happy on opening of courts despite judicial holidays on the occasion of Basant. 

In this regard lawyers and law officers said there will be a holiday in all departments and how will officers come to the hearings.

Police officers will face difficulties in appearing in the courts, law officers and lawyers said.

Lawyers and law officers who come to the court on motorcycles are also worried while lawyers and litigants will be forced to come to courts despite government holidays.
