“I, too, received a call from a courier service this morning”; committee member Shazia Farid has raised the issue with the Additional Director. I was told there was a parcel for me, but when I checked the address, it was for my old residence. What should we do in this situation? Should we lodge a formal complaint?
"We receive fake calls every day," said Naeema Kishwar. She told the body that a poor man from our village handed over 300,000 rupees after receiving a call claiming his relative in Saudi Arabia urgently needed the money. "A solution must be found for this," the Committee Chairman instructed the Additional Director.
"Has any gang actually been apprehended?" the Chairman asked the Additional Director. "Yes, we apprehended a Chinese gang a few days ago," the Additional Director replied. "We busted a Chinese operation that had collected 120 million rupees." "We have recovered 50 million rupees." "Their scheme was that if one invested 100,000 rupees, they would pay 10,000 rupees monthly." "And if one invested one million rupees, they would receive 100,000 rupees; this gang was caught." "However, once the accumulated funds reached 5 or 6 million rupees, the account would be shut down."
Committee Member Naeema Kishwar raised question regarding the NHA scheme.
