Dar greets Uzbek President Shavkat at first meeting after arrival in Pakistan
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday met Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is currently in Pakistan on a two-day visit.
Dar conveyed the warm greetings of the president, prime minister and the people of Pakistan to the Uzbek president. He underlined the importance that Pakistan accords to its cordial relations with Uzbekistan and expressed confidence that the presidential visit would contribute to stronger bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen and diversify the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
Earlier, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets paid a grand aerial salute to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev as his aircraft entered Pakistani airspace.
A six-member squadron of PAF fighter jets welcomed the aircraft of the distinguished guest in a remarkable display of hospitality and brotherhood. The formation leader extended a warm welcome to the Uzbek president on behalf of the prime minister and the people of Pakistan.
The aerial salute was described as a testament to the resolve of the Pakistan Armed Forces to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The grand aerial reception also served as a clear manifestation of goodwill, reflecting the long-standing friendship and shared brotherhood between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
