Army Chief Gen Munir takes up defence cooperation with Saudi minister
Meeting in Riyadh focuses on strategic partnership and defence relations

Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir held indepth talks with Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported early Thursday.
The meeting between the defence chiefs discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance defence and military cooperation.
“Pleased to meet H.E General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff. We emphasized the strategic partnership between our brotherly countries, reviewed the bilateral military and defence relations, and discussed ways of strengthening our cooperation,” Prince Khalid tweeted.
He also congratulated General Munir on being appointed as Chief of Army Staff.

A number of Saudi and Pakistani military and civil officials attended the meeting.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, COAS General Syed Asim Munir is on an official visit to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 4th to 10th January.
The COAS will be meeting the senior leadership of both the brotherly countries to discuss matters of mutual interest, military to military cooperation and bilateral relations focusing on security related subjects, said a statement issued by the ISPR.
