4-year ban imposed on three national kabaddi players

The Anti-Doping Organization of Pakistan (ADOP) has imposed a four-year ban on three national kabaddi players and one team official for refusing to undergo doping tests during the National Kabaddi Championship held in Lahore.

According to the notification issued under Articles 2.9 and 10.14.1 of ADOP regulations, players Obaidullah Rajput, Malik Bin Yameen, Rana Haider, along with team official Kashif Sandhu, violated anti-doping rules by declining to provide samples during the championship.

The decision was approved by ADOP Chairperson Dr Qurat-ul-Ain, who confirmed that the refusal to submit doping tests constitutes a serious anti-doping violation, warranting the maximum penalty under the rules.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation has convened a meeting of its Disciplinary Committee on January 13 in Lahore to review the matter.

The committee will be chaired by Rana Amjad Iqbal, with members Akhtar Abbas, Colonel Nabeel, Suhail Ahmed, and Rana Sarwar.

All suspended players and the official have been directed to appear before the disciplinary committee to present their stance.

Failure to do so will result in the enforcement of the ban without further proceedings.

The four-year suspension will be considered effective from October 21, 2025.
