PM convenes key cabinet committee meeting on energy
Prime Minister has called an important meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy to be held tomorrow, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
The government is gearing up for significant decisions, including the potential dismissal of officers and officials with poor performance based on intelligence reports, sources revealed.
According to sources, a DISCO support unit comprised of officers from intelligence agencies will issue the report evaluating the performance.
In the first phase, a recommendation has been made to establish this support unit in the Multan Electric Supply Company.
The officers participating in the DISCO support unit will be incentivized for their efforts in preventing and recovering electricity theft, with a reward of 5 to 10 percent of the recovered money.
The Cabinet Committee will review a five-point agenda, which includes the amendment of the oil refining policy and the establishment of the DISCO support unit, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce losses in the energy sector.
