Hassan Jahangir breaks silence on Rekha love letter rumours

Pakistani singer Hassan Jahangir has addressed old rumours that Bollywood veteran Rekha once wrote him a love letter during the peak of his popularity.

Appearing on a podcast, Hassan was asked whether the widely circulated claim about Rekha's alleged love letter was true.

Rather than confirming or denying the rumour, the singer smiled and replied that some things should remain between the people involved instead of becoming public.

Hassan went on to say that he has enjoyed warm relationships with several Bollywood personalities over the years.

The personalities included actors including Madhuri Dixit, Mandakini, Sonu Walia, Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

According to Hassan, the mutual respect and friendships he shares with these stars have remained intact over the years.

When the interviewer Ahmed Ali Butt again pressed him to reveal who had written the alleged love letter, Hassan responded that "everyone writes them," adding with a laugh that he had written love letters himself and concluded that the interviewer had probably done the same.

Known for his hit song Hawa Hawa, Hassan Jahangir rose to fame in the 1980s and became one of Pakistan's most popular pop singers.

His music also earned him recognition across India, where he developed friendships with several prominent figures from the Bollywood film industry.
