Ritual of hanging people upside down continues unchecked in Narowal festival
A large crowd of people gathered to witness the ritual of hanging people upside down from a beam made of cement at a Mela being held in the Khanpur Balar, a village in the suburbs of Narowal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Locals question who will be responsible if the person hanging upside down falls and breaks his neck or dies?
They have said that it is the 21st Century and even today people do such types of rituals.
They have further questioned that if any accident occurs, will the festival administration be responsible for that?
However, such stunts continue in the mela in the name of a ritual or entertainment, while, on the other hand, the administration is a silent spectator.
A video of hanging a person upside down at the festival goes viral on social media.
