Israel targets Hamas’ top commander Ezz Aldin Al-Hadeed in Gaza airstrike

The Israeli Air Force launched a targeted airstrike on eastern Gaza City, reportedly aiming at  Ezz Aldin Al-Hadeed, the newly appointed head of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

Israeli media, citing Arab sources, have claimed that Al-Hadeed was martyred in the attack, although official confirmation from Hamas is still pending.

Al-Hadeed was considered one of the last remaining senior figures in Hamas's upper command structure following months of intense Israeli military operations in Gaza.

His reported death follows the earlier killing of Mohammad Sinwar, after which Al-Hadeed had assumed leadership of the al-Qassam Brigades.

Israeli sources describe Al-Hadeed as a strategic and operational pillar of Hamas’s military leadership.

 If confirmed, his death would mark another significant blow to the group's top brass amid ongoing Israeli attempts to dismantle Hamas’s command network in Gaza.
