Expressing his views over the gun and bomb attack at an imambargah in Peshawar yesterday (Saturday) in which 57 people had lost their lives till last reports came in, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said on Saturday that extremism was a major cause behind incidents of terrorism, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a tweet, he said that people became extremists when teachers, religious scholars and the police did not play their roles.

He said the cooperation of parliament and judiciary was required for the state to win its war against terrorism. “And for that, we will have to forge unity in our ranks,” the minister asserted.
